Learning Outcome

At the end of the programme, you will be able to:

-Gain awareness of what is a banksman in workplace transport supervision

-Understand the necessity and importance of a banksman in workplace safety

-Learn how a banksman helps in risk control for large vehicles

-Understand the importance of a traffic marshal in traffic control

 

For Whom

The “Banksmen Safety Course” is for anyone that wishes to carry out generic Banksman Duties at the workplace.

 

Assumed Skills Knowledge / Entry Requirement

- Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

-Have a basic knowledge of vehicle Safety

-Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the

Employability Skills (ES) level 2 (Applies to English Courses ONLY)

-Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 2 (Applies to English Courses ONLY)

-Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 2; and

-Be medically fit

 

Course Overview

Training in safe systems of work, duty of care to new banksmen, employee competence, use of visibility aids and audible alarms, verbal signals and radio systems, personal protective equipment (PPE), high visibility clothing, protective equipment for the head, and weather protection.
